Date Night - How to Set the Scene
Setting aside time to nurture your relationship is important for strengthening the connection. Whether you choose to go out or have a cosy night in, your surroundings are an important part of setting the mood for romance and connection. We had this in mind when developing brand new scents for the House of Love collection, inspired by love in all its forms. We’d love to spotlight two of our most romantic home scents from the collection that would be perfect for setting the scene for your next date night:
Nuit De Reve Reed Diffuser
Translating as Night of Dreams, this gorgeous reed diffuser scent is inspired by the streets of Paris at night. Place it at the centre of your dinner table, or in your living room, and enjoy uplifting raspberry and balsam, with amber and mandarin top notes. This magical combination will make your romantic evening feel unforgettable.
Golden Suede Sparkles
the perfect blend of sophistication and comfort, suede and cedarwood exudes depth and warmth. Its cosy feel is perfectly paired with dim lights, relaxing music and good food - to help you leave behind the cares of the day, and focus on connecting with your loved one.
5 Ways to Set the Scene for a Romantic Dinner
While we all love going out for dinner at a restaurant, there’s something special about getting creative with your space, and putting together a beautiful setting. Here are five things to consider.
Lighting
Placing pockets of soft light in different parts of the room can create an intimate and peaceful scene. Lamps in corners can be a good place to start. Drape some fairy lights over walls near the table can add an extra special feel. Flickering candles placed on the table, and in different spots around the room adds a sense of comfort and romance.
Flowers
Place a bunch of carefully arranged flowers in a small vase on the table, in colours that match the decor of your home. Make sure it’s low enough so it doesn’t get in the way of your conversations. Placing scattered petals on the table can add a playful yet romantic touch.
Music
You might want to create a playlist of love songs that mean something to you both, bringing back memories. Instrumental music playing softly in the background will add to the atmosphere, without drawing too much attention away.
Tableware
Date night is the perfect time to bring out those glasses and plates you save for special occasions. Place them neatly, arranging them elegantly around any flowers and candles you choose.
