Making Our Candles - The Process

The way we make our soy wax scented candles is part of what sets them apart as unique. We’ve taken the time to choose quality ingredients, and to learn the best techniques for the results you love. Behind every candle you take home from House of Cassidy, is a process we have put time and passion into perfecting, from sourcing the ideal fragrance ingredients, to the final pour. The Scents

Creating original, luxury scents that stand out from anything you can find on the high street is an art form for us. Taking inspiration from designer perfumes, nature, special memories, and more, our founder, Cletus, spends hour upon hour trying out different combinations, playing around with spices, woods, florals and fruits. Using his in-depth knowledge of perfumery, he sources only the best quality essential oils and perfume oils from trusted suppliers. When crafting a scent to stand out, the types of ingredients used are important.

Home-made

Every stage of the process takes place at home, in our kitchen, particularly the melting and mixing of our soy wax formula. We’ve found the ideal melting temperature that creates the perfect pour every time. We melt the natural soy wax flakes at 70 degrees. This gives the silky, smooth finish we love.

We then measure out the scent oils, before pouring and mixing evenly into the wax, so the scent permeates every drop. Once the wax mixture has partially cooled, we then pour it into our beautiful glass vessels.

Finishing Touches

Before we pour the wax, we place our organic cotton or bamboo wicks - whichever you prefer - in the centre of each glass, making sure it’s securely fixed in place. Pouring wax by hand is a process we do with meticulous attention to detail, so that it fills up every corner, and sets evenly at the top. Once it’s poured, the candles are set aside to cool. It’s vital that they are not moved, and are stored at the right temperature.

The glasses are then polished to perfection, to remove any fingerprints, or smears. Labels are carefully put in place, before the candles are packed into our simple, recyclable boxes to be sent straight to your front door.
